Hi, I am Jason Thibodeaux,


I have a passion for providing safe space for all creatures. My friends call me the pet whisperer because I seem to always connect with animals.

I was also a care giver for over 10 years for my Mom. Since moving to Portland 19 years ago, I have worked in stop motion industry on films such as Coraline, Paranorman, Boxtrolls and Kubo at Laika studios. This industry requires you to, handle uncompromising deadlines, have exacting attention to detail, foster inter department communication and teamwork. This industry also taught me how to resolve problems responsibly and exude calm in high pressure situations.

The flexibility of this job is also enticing as it would allow me to build up my own business as a puppet film director, and continue my life as a shadow puppet performer.

What services do you offer?: Pet sitting, Dog walking, overnight care, pet taxi services, medication administration

Pet Care Experience: During my time in NYC, my friend worked at a holistic pet store called Whiskers and I would take on extra pet sitting gigs for his clients including someone that worked for the UN. I also helped my mom through many years of tough medical procedures by caring for and walking her dog, a Bolognese named Lexus. After being spotted by other residents in her senior building, I began to walk multiple other dogs as well. I have also been trusted to pet sit for multiple friends over the years, cats like Meemew, Ripley, Pippy, Beanchon and the rottweiler Sweetie. I had a cat for 15 years named Mittens and always helped my Mom growing up with her Japanese Chin's Sasha and x-show dog Branston. Lizards. guinea pigs, fish and birds as well.

General Availability : Full-time (overnight/boarding)

Pet Care Experience

  • I feel very comfortable handling pets of different sizes and temperaments.

  • I have a lot of experience administering medications to pets (e.g., oral meds, topical treatments).

  • I always prioritize creating a calm and safe environment for pets in my care.

  • I can follow specific instructions from pet owners regarding routines, dietary restrictions, and care preferences.

  • I feel confident in my ability to assess a pet's behavior and adjust my approach accordingly.

  • I am confident in my ability to care for pets with various needs (feeding, walking, socializing, etc.).

  • I have experience with managing pet behaviors (e.g., reinforcing commands, managing issues like separation anxiety or aggression) but prefer going over specific command and training with owners prior to walks and adventures.
